Uni-Lat® Couplings

Uni-Lat lateral displacement couplers uniquely combine the mechanisms of the universal joint and the Oldham type coupling to compensate for simultaneous parallel and angular shaft offsets. Parallel misalignment is accommodated by lateral displacement, therefore Uni-Lats can handle severe alignment errors. This is a valuable feature in densely packaged and blind assemblies where alignment is difficult to verify or rectify. While severe misalignment can accelerate the erosion of bearing pre-load, it will not precipitate catastrophic failure.,Suitable for connecting to light servo and stepper drives, encoders, resolvers, tachogenerators, and to instrumentation applications generally.
